WHAT IS COMMANDO BOOTCAMP?

Get out in the open air and experience the benefits of training like a Royal Marines Commando, the fun way of course! With no two sessions the same, our Commando Bootcamps are a great way to get fit in a fun, sociable and outdoor environment.

Our sessions are catered for all fitness levels, the idea being that you go at your own level and pace – you get out what you put in, with the benefit of an instructor to keep you on your toes.

Our hour-long sessions will help you burn-fat, get fitter and improve muscle tone using circuit-based exercises. From bodyweight exercises and shuttle runs, to kettlebells, ropes and tyres, come along and try out training like a Marine! Your first session is always FREE – no excuses, let’s do this!

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL SESSION INVOLVE?

  • Introduction to the session plan – no two sessions the same!
  • Demonstration of all the exercises and how to do them safely
  • 10 minute Warm-up - If it’s cold and raining, you will soon forget about it after this stage as you will be warm and primed for action!
  • Main session lasting from 30-45 minutes
  • Cooldown with stretching and mobility work - related to the muscle groups you used on the session to enhance recovery

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Your first session with us is always FREE! This is to give you a chance to experience our Commando Bootcamp and get a feel for what training with Marine Fitness is like. After that, each hour session cost’s just £5 ! There is no financial commitment as it is simply pay-as-you-go!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Below you'll find answers to the questions we get asked the most about our Bootcamps.

No! There is no requirement to book a slot, you simply turn up on the day. Your first session is free and then you simply pay-as-you-go thereafter. We accept cash and you can also pay online via our booking system.

Hell no! Whether it’s sun, rain, hail or snow, our Commando Bootcamp will still be running. We understand how difficult it can be sometimes to motivate yourself to train outside when the weather is poor, but remember the reason why you are training and your goal, and we can assure you that, once you have completed our warm-up, you won’t even notice the bad weather!

- Trainers that are suitable for exercise
- Shorts or suitable training bottoms that do not restrict movement
- T shirt, vest or other suitable training top.
- If you have any heart rate monitors or fitness trackers, don’t forget to wear these to enhance your exercise experience!

IMPORTANT: Try to avoid bulky warm clothing – if need be wear a base layer under a training top so that you can remove layers and do not overheat during the session. Start cold finish warm!

NOTE: depending on weather and location, clothing may become wet and dirty!

All you need to bring to the session is a full water-bottle, some motivation and any friends and family that you think can benefit from some exercise!

Every session is different in both equipment used and format of exercise:

- Bodyweight training (press-ups, squats, burpees, mountain climbers, crunches, dips).
- Interval training – sprints/shuttle runs
- Kettlebells
- Tyres
- Sled (prowler) pulls and pushes
- Sledgehammers
- Slam balls
- Barbells/Dumbbells
- Battle Ropes
- And much more!

Of course you are! The greatest benefit to our bootcamps is that any fitness level is welcome! All exercises are taught before the session begins and we are happy for you turn up 10 minutes early to clear any concerns you have before the session begins.

Each exercise has a suitable adaptation – an easier version for the inexperienced and a harder version for the more advanced looking to push themselves further.

Remember, you get out what you put in, being unfit or inexperienced is no longer an acceptable excuse for putting off your journey to success!
